She's been playing a 90 year old woman for 25 years.

Yes, for those of us who first saw her in SISTER ACT and HOOK, it's remarkable to find out she wasn't nearly as old as she was portrayed to be!

I mean, based on the movies I first saw her in – including FIRST WIVES CLUB – I thought she was merely a character actress who only showed up once in a while in films. Thank goodness I watched HOOK again one day and took the notion to look her up. How thrilled I was to discover her body of work, and that this presumed character actress was actually a leading lady who has been acting since she was a young woman. It was a wonderful revelation! Some of it took some getting used to, and I certainly don't like everything she's been in, but I don't think I've ever enjoyed going through an actress's filmography as much as I have her's.
