Dictionary Scene in Say Anything

Say Anything was one of the best movies of the eighties. My favorite scene in that movie was when Lloyd (John Cusack) is in her room and picks up her dictionary to look through it and finds pen marks next to a lot of the words in the dictionary. He asks her what that was all about and she says that she marks every words she looks up. That impressed me so much that I starting doing it to the dictionary I used in high school. I still have it, but it doesn't have as many marks as hers did. In addition to that movie and her great performace in it, I love her name.

That's so funny! I was so impressed by that myself that I started marking it too...although I never marked it as much as she did...

Hah I love that scene. Yea I guess mega smarties would look up that many words!

But why would you post this on Ione Skye's board? The dictionary thing is from Cameron Crowe's script. It's his idea.

I guess it would be for the same reason that there are so many posts about Jack and Ennis on Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger's message board instead of on Larry McMurtry's, the author of the screenplay or Anne Prulx, the author of the short story. They acted out those characters, thus making them part of the process.

Good bye, good luck, good God!!!!
