He's brilliant in 'Our Kind of Traitor' and really good in 'Nymphomaniac' and 'Breaking the Waves'.

Our Kind of Traitor: My favorite movie genre is spy/thrillers. Cast looks great. 6.4 rating is depressing though.

The film isn't terrific but it's perfectly adequate. Not on par of other Le Carre spy thrillers like 'The Spy Who Came in the Cold' or either of the 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' adaptations, but it remains an engaging watch that's nothing to be sniffed at. If you like spy/thriller films as much as I do, give it a watch. My guess is a lot of people went in expecting an action-packed thriller which it certainly isn't.

Skasgard and Damian Lewis are the highlights of the cast. Both play such dynamic characters in such beautifully nuanced ways; definitely worth a watch.

If your favourite genre is spy/thriller, may I recommend the following (though you'll probably have seen a lot of them):

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (1979 and 2011 versions)
The Spy Who Came in From the Cold (1965)
Three Days of the Condor (1975)
The Lives of Others (2006)
The Manchurian Candidate (1962)
Saboteur (1943)

Insomnia is one of my all-time favorites. From an acting standpoint, I really loved Stellan in Aberdeen, too.
