Did her and Bruce really hate eachother?

They seemed to get along in the bloopers.

As far as I can derive, their relationship seemed to parallel David and Maddie's- a sort of love/hate relationship, but ultimately good friends.

yeah, since i asked that, i have heard a commentary with both of them on it together and though it seemed slightly strained they still complimented eachother and seemed to laugh at the same things. personally i think they really fancied eachother alot too!

What if Cybill had married Bruce instead of Bruce marrying Demi? It would have been very interesting!

interesting thought! i think it would have lasted a long time! they had more chemistry together than bruce and demi ever seemed to. i got a moonlighting boxset for christmas today! happy christmas!

I finally got all the ML seasons too! Anyway, even if they did clash on the set, it was probably more a case of two strong personalities bumping heads than dislike. At least that's what I choose to believe because they were so awesome together.

i've read that they kind of just picked fights before fight scenes on purpose but they actually liked eachother. on the commentaries bruce compliments cybil a good few times, and on cybil's website there is a link to his site so i guess they have a lot of respect for eachother. i also read an interview with her where she said the chemistry was real and they absolutely did fancy eachother though they never got together off screen. i don't think anyone could deny that chemistry though! and i can't believe how different they look now. it's weird how there's 'moonlighting bruce' and 'action bruce' that younger generations are more familiar with! it's like two different people!
oh and i won't spoil it in case you haven't watched it yet, but i was quite disappointed in the last episode - i'd be interested to hear what you thought of it when you've seen it!

Oh yes, I finally saw the last episode last year. I think I must have lost interest in ML during the 5th season when it sorta went downhill. "Lunar Eclipse" was a real travesty. There was no resolution to David and Maddie's relationship at all and it ended on a depressing note. The scriptwriter evidently just threw some crap together because he probably found out at nearly the last minute about official cancellation and the ratings had plummeted by then.

The first three seasons were golden. In the fourth the show got off track by with the characterization of David as the martyr/hero with the broken heart and Maddie as the unfeeling, somewhat childish, ice queen and heartbreaker. And of course for a bunch of episodes they had no shared scenes. I wish they had just stopped production and waited for the writers strike to end (back then) and for Cybill to have her twins. Sheess!

Well, now you know how I feel! LOL

totally agree. although i have to say, after the depressing and totally out of character 4th series, i thought the 5th was really picking up, and you can tell it got cut short very suddenly because maddie's cousin was written out so suddenly. i thought it was actually starting to go in a different direction and then the last episode was the weakest of all the series. i was gutted, i thought they would at least, on the brink of non-existence, suddenly have a burst of clarity about their relationship and at least end on a proper, decisive kiss which we had been waiting for pretty much since the episode in series 3 (or was it 2?) when they finally got together. i guess the writers were disillusioned and didn't feel like making an effort anymore, but for their loyal fans which stuck with them to the end they could have made more of it, and given some closure. oh well, cybil shepherd said she would work with bruce willis again in a second, so maybe we will see david and maddie one more time!
completely off-topic - don't you think the young cybil shepherd looked a lot like marcia brady?! when i saw the first episode of moonlighting and it pans across maddie's old modelling shots (by the way - bit narcissistic to have your own posters on your wall!!), i was thinking "why are there pictures of marcia on the wall?!"
