Just saw this on the news.
He certainly was a fine actor.

I saw many of his movies but I remember him best for his role in The Right Stuff. RIP

I Instantly thought about Days of Heaven, and his screenplay for Paris, Texas. And of course The Right Stuff. He was a cool dude.

I remember being really surprised by his death. For some reason I thought he'd be a kind of guy who made it to like 87.
