For me, it's Joe Gideon from All That Jazz.

Tough one. I'll go with Blue Thunder by a hair over Jaws.

His supporting roles often get overlooked. He was solid as Gene Hackman's sidekick in the French Connection.

I also liked his desperate character in "The Sorcerer"

Sorcerer [1977]. I also really like him in Jaws [1975] and 52 Pick-Up [1986].
