Will be 2016 a better year for him as an actor?

In recent years it has been quiet around JRM! The last projects were not very successful, so I hope that 2016 will become a better year for Jonathan!

Let's see:

Since Albert Nobbs from 2012 he had no bigger success!

"Belle du Seigneur" was shown only in France and Russia? Not avaible on DVD as well!

"The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones": was a flop.

"Another Me": Little role, the movie was a flop.

"Dracula" also not a success, it was over after one season!

"Stonewall" after a few insane Tranies insits that it was whitewashed and the story is wrong because (of course) the Tranies did all, many critics and even the LBGT people were influenced by these lunatics! Preconceptions? No, we do not! It was shown just in a few cinemas, I guess, after all what happened, Emmerich slowed it down. Now I unterstand why so many people in the business avoids it to do more LBGT movies! Sorry for Emmerich and the team!

This year JRM has 6 projects! 1 project is finished and ready for the screen, 3 in post-production and 2 in pre-production.

Roots is a mini-series and it was done in 1977 and was successful, so this is a remake! Well, remakes are often not a great success, but let us hope.

Damascus-cover is the movie-version of a great book. Spy-story, hm, Independent-movie and I guess not the big box Office hit.

Shadow: It's a thriller from the States, many unknown actors in it. Also Independent-movie.

London-town: Drama, about the Clash, maybe also not something for a box-Office-hit, the cast has also a few bigger names!

"Shambhala" is in pre-production and I'm not even sure, if JRM will do that.

The Rising: 1916: Irish-history, sounds interesting, I hope that will turn out into a great movie!

JRM has a lot of work, but for me it looks like all more Independent-movies and no bigger hits. What do you think? He needs something bigger, which brings him back into the mind of the people. He needs a success!

Yes, lots of work but not much of it is likely to garner many eyeballs. The exception being Roots which will broadcast on a number of mainstream cable channels. I'm not sure how much attention he will get though as it looks to be a cast of thousands. Hopefully they've remade a good series, but I'm not sure if there's a clamor by folks to see it?

The movies seem to be very small and independent. Nothing wrong with that, but it is a pity JRM can't mix up the small movies with some studio fare nowadays. But that's not unexpected considering he isn't exactly a box office star and the personal stuff. I think he really needs to show a long-term commitment to knuckling down and staying away from trouble plus a huge dose of good luck before the studios and big producers start considering JRM for roles again.

There's also the issue of distribution. Damascus Cover is completed but as far as I know it has yet to get an American distributor. They have been shopping it for awhile now. London Town also doesn't have US distribution but it was more recently completed than DC.

And I have doubts about The Rising. I haven't checked in on that for awhile but it seems to have had lots of trouble attracting investment. The producer/director was seeking a very modest 2.5M and couldn't even net that.

No big surprice the beeball reappears now.
Again with deep concern of course.

First, Belle Du Seigneur is available on DVD. I got mine through e-bay. Yes, he does alot of indies but that doesn't mean he's not going to get that "Big" role. You never know what will click with audiences & true fans look for the films he makes. London Town may have a few bigger names but his character is pivotal. Jonny's work is amazing & fans know it. Let's keep everything positive for him. For faithful fans he is already a huge success.

Well, Shambhala seems to have shambled off...JRM's IMDB list at least.

Yeah, I saw that. Who knows. They probably couldn't get financed. Guess we can hope for Damascus Cover & London Town. I wish he would get a real blockbuster role though. But I'll never give up on him trgatdless.

Loveable these discussions of true fans.
One site of Post History within a year is really passionate! 

A short search showed this:
As she is set to start work on an adventure film, Shambhala, opposite Jonathan Rhys Meyers, she feels, "You have to create opportunities for yourself rather than wait for them to find you."

Have the gut feeling sweet beeball knows why Shambhala "shambled off" Jonathan Rhys Meyers' IMDb site...everybody can contribute and change IMDb pages.
