Frustrating

I've followed Jonathan's career for years after some hot piece in college said I looked exactly like him. He has enormous talent and it's such a shame his career has been plagued by his own personal demons. Jonathan already had a drink problem that was exacerbated through the death of his mother. I just hope he can recover or at least keep the demons at bay, and get back on form. Would be horrible to lose such talent so soon. It makes me sad to see anyone when they've fallen hard.

Good luck!

Jonathan has been actively working and has several movie / tv projects on the go at the moment. Is it that hard to focus on those positive things, instead of yammering on and on and on about his "drinking problems" and "personal demons"? Seriously.

Clearly you have learning difficulties as I never focused just on Jonathan's pitfalls.

Stay mad. :)

Yawn. You're boring me.

Stop yammering, you're boring me.

Yeah, you had a rousing four words total that said something positive: he has enormous talent. The rest of the post was focusing on his demons, I have to say. (Except when making it a point to say you were told you looked exactly like him. ;) )

acthewriter has no learning difficulties. I think you meant well, but the post did focus on JRM's pitfalls. You'd think he was on skid row rather than still working steadily from what you said.

It just occurred to me that it's so nice to enjoy JRM in a widely-accessible and seen project again. It's great to engage others in discussion over his performance, the role and the project overall. No need to focus on anything else.

I agree! The Roots re-boot was really well done, intense, heartbreaking but ultimately showing hope, strength and resilience. The Tom Lea role was perfectly suited to JRM and what he's especially good at as an actor. I've always loved that movie Ride with the Devil and like JRM in the twisted Wild West Southerner realm...

I've also always loved JRM in his music movies...I can't wait to see London Town! That thriller he just shot with Antonio Banderas seems interesting too. JRM is on a really great upswing at the moment...and it's great to see what he can do as an older, more seasoned and experienced actor in well-executed projects that are truly worth watching.
