Don't need to.

Christopher Reeve, and ONLY him, will ALWAYS be Superman for me.

Yep, no real argument from me. What about his films though? I mean, Superman is a classic and Superman II pretty damn entertaining too, but it all went to kryptonite after that didn't it? 3 was embarrassing and 4 was just shy of a total abortion.

I agree he is the best incarnation of the character, but I think some of the actors there had some really strong moments as Supes and had more time to really flesh the character out, like Welling in Smallville for example.

Superman is not really a classic, it has many problems: slow build, cheesy villains, including Lex Luthor, and a ridiculous time-reversal scene.

Superman 3, I quite like. The theme of computers is what nailed it for me, and having drunk Superman as a villain was also cool.

Superman 4, is really stupid, I agree. Made by a porn movie company for peanuts, from what I heard.

But Superman 2, both cuts, will always be my favourite. The Zod, Ursa and Non stuff was always amazing, and the Richard Donner cut... wow!

Never saw Smallville, but I did like Dean Cain's version in Lois and Clark (The New Adventures of Superman in the UK, where I am).

1. Reeves. (Would love to see him with todays CGI)
2. Routh. (Suck-ass movie, but he looked good in the role)
3. Hoechlin. (Something about him just looks piimp)

Yikes...

Can't do it.

Just saw Brandon Routh in a Hallmark Christmas movie. Like Dean Cain...nice touch.

1. Christopher Reeve
2. George Reeves (A little belly gut, surprised this isn't seen more)

I have ni going forward...

I always thought comic book movies sucked and this was about the king of it all.

1. Christopher Reeve - the best superhero performance ever
2. Brandon Routh - I enjoyed most of SR and he was very very good, a shame they decided to go with Cavill
3. Dean Cain - I watched a few seasons of this series but, as the title suggests, it was more about Lois and Clark than it was Superman, still it was enjoyable and he was good in the dual role
4. George Reeves - I only watched maybe a dozen episodes of him as Superman but, despite the obvious limitations of that period, I thought he was good, I have been intending to watch more of it
5. Henry Cavill - Not awful but not very good at all, I guess the idea to make him more of a brooding character, like Batman, is supposed to make him a better one, MoS was like watching someone play a video game and Batman V Superman wasn't any better
