I like what Jane Fonda said in 1980
When Reagan won the election in '80, Fonda reportedly said "He was a lousy actor and he'll make a lousy President." Truer words were never spoken.

shareYes, Jane Fonda was eminently qualified to know what a "lousy actor" was.
shareOooh buuuurn....
Fonda's a much better actor than Reagan ever was, but I think even she would reassess her prediction about his presidency now.
Like, you think Reagan is bad baby? Wait 'til you see what the next millennium serves up.
I watched a few Fonda movies back in the day. She only made her presence felt in one of those, namely, Barbarella. In all the others, she was merely Jane Fonda, another person in the movie.
shareAh well, I've always liked her performances. I particularly liked her in Cat Ballou, Barefoot in the Park, They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, Klute, The China Syndrome, 9 to 5, On Golden Pond, Agnes of God and The Morning After.
I do wonder if people would respect her work more if she hadn't been so outspoken politically. Her aerobics period in the 80s probably didn't help either.
At the end of the day she's still a Fonda and for me she's certainly done nothing to ruin the esteem of the family name, at least in terms of her acting.
Klute, maybe. But then, she was cast to type, a bit...
Nothing to do with her politics, as far as I'm concerned. Every mug has a political opinion, and the bigger the mug, the more outlandish the opinion. Any personal response I had to her was more to do with the disrespect she showed to her father.
But you're right. She didn't diminish the esteem of her family name - but only because she disassociated herself from it! And I think that was a move for which they were probably very grateful.
Extremely good actress. Politically stupid at best and traitor at worst.
Moron....lmao
shareWords of wisdom from Hanoi Jane.
