Wins BAFTA, says BAFTA are racists

Your welcome Joaquin :-)

reply

Joaquin wasn't the only one who criticized BAFTA.

"Towards the end of the ceremony, BAFTA president Prince William gave a speech in which he criticized BAFTA's recent diversity crisis, following a year in which no black talent were nominated in the main acting categories.

"We find ourselves talking about the need to do more to address diversity in this sector," said the royal. "This can not be right in this day and age.""

reply

wow, perfectly said

in this day and age, we really can't go by talent and skill anymore

that's disgusting behavior

we really need to diversify the NBA next. get some more white, asian, and hispanic men in there.

reply

I mean, who cares about what's best, it's all about including everybody, regardless of quality.

Being athletically talented isn't as subjective as judging an actor.

Asinine comment.

Points are points. Look at the scoreboard dipshit.

No. Points are objective, not subjective.

reply

reply

As long as racists believe that talent and skill are only from white actors, then it will remain a problem. Denial much?

"we really need to diversify the NBA next."

They did:
"The racial dynamic of the NBA in the 1970s was, in many ways, the result of various responses to the civil rights movement. Black NBA players in the fifties and sixties were selected by NBA team owners with an eye towards the racial (in)tolerance of white fans. The NBA had an unofficial quota of three or four black players per team for fifteen years, and while star-caliber players shone in African American leagues, only “role players”—as opposed to athletic, creative scorers—were chosen to cross over."

reply

never said talent and skill lived in only white actors, but hey, whatever gets you off

WHITE, ASIAN, and HISPANIC men need to be added to the NBA in modern times, to fit modern standards.

this isn't 1970

reply

“I don’t think anybody wants a handout or preferential treatment,” continued Phoenix. “People just want to be acknowledged and appreciated and respected for their work."

Here here. And it just so happens maybe other works were just better? Here's an idea, lets just have every person of color win the BAFTA instead. Joaquin will rejoice. Hell, maybe have only people of color win every year just to show true diversity in the making. Less whites the better and all is great in the world of Hollywood. If them whities complain, remind them to be tolerant, accepting, their privilege, and diversity :).
