I doubt he'd change his mind that dramatically that suddenly when he's always been so open about the fact that he never, ever wanted to have children. She's 39. She wanted a kid. I'd say it was her plan, not his. Good luck to him....

The sad thing is his ex wife wasted all these fertile years most probably to appease his wish, and he's the one who gets to be a dad now.

I sure hope they planned to have this baby together and not like it was all her plan and he just happened to be the man around.
I am happy for Guy becoming a father though the timing seem not that right(just divorced last year) and in the past, he'd said he didn't want kids. But people have the freedom to change their minds. As long as they truly love each other and be good parents to this child, it's a wonderful thing happen to both of them.
Guy's dad passed away when he was around 8 and his elder sister is intellectually disabled. And I read his blog that he said his mom is having Alzheimer now. If Carice can make him happy and even changed his mind to want to be a father, then so be it. Hope their baby is healthy and I am sure Guy would be a wonderful father.

Also sad that his kids is going to have one parent who's been all over the media saying he never wants kids and if he had one he'd probably be arrested for throwing it out the window (imagine the child reading all those articles in years to come about how much guy didn't want him/her) and another parents who's done more naked sex scenes than the average person has had hot dinners and whose bits are all over the internet for anyone to see. How humiliating for the child when he or she is old enough to understand all that.
