Criminal Minds was never a good show

You people make me laugh. The fact that people call that crock of sh!t show their "favorite" is laughable. Mandy left the show because he was sick of associating himself with that garbage. Homeland is excellent, as is Mandy as Saul.

Yeah, Criminal Minds is very ....ordinary. I've just watched a few shows lately that I've discovered on tv out of boredom. It beats nothing at all or something bad, but it's more background noise than a really good show. There are so many of these shows that are the same..like NCIS, Criminal Minds, Law and Order (there are so many spinoffs of that one it's not funny), etc.

I stopped watching CM when Patinkin left. It went down hill fast.

Criminal Minds, for the first 4-5 seasons was a VERY good drama that stood out from most "network" dramas. IMO, those earlier seasons were a cut above these "mass produced" type shows like NCIS or Law & Order that could literally run for 100 seasons with only slight plot variations.

Since around late season 5, the show has gone steeply down hill. It's not the fault of the writers or actors, the concept has simply run it's course. (Incidentally, I'd be curious to know how often an FBI profiler sets foot on a private jet. Probably not several times per week, I'm guessing)

Homeland is the kind of show that IMO is "Tier 1" (no pun intended if any military guys got that) It's in league with shows like The Sopranos and Breaking Bad. It's not the kind of crap they can just churn out 22 hour-long episodes but that just makes you appreciate it more.

I will also say his for Homeland: IMO it has gotten better every season. Season 4 finale was total BS but otherwise, ever since the Brody storyline ended, it's been anazing.

Mandy was awesome in Criminal Minds but better in Homeland.

Criminal Minds has always been better than Homeland, with and without Mandy. Also, Mandy left citing "personal" reasons because he couldn't handle the dark nature of the show, it had nothing to do with being "sick of associating himself with that garbage".
