His work has that gravitas that great stage actors have. Has he done a lot of stage work? I would love to see him do Tevya in Fiddler On The Roof

I am currently re-watching Season 2 of Homeland, so I decided to come around to check out his CV.
For some reason, I have always been under the impression that Mandy Patinkin was mainly a theater actor.

Yes. He's been doing theatre since the 70s. I think his first big part was the original Che in the original broadway production of Evita. He's worked a lot with Stephen Sondheim as well.
