I hate how everyone automaticall blames Anna Paquin. An actress can only do so much with what she has. It's the poor writing and directing that made Rogue a dull and weak character.

Watch True Blood, her character on that show is just how Rogue should've been and she plays Sookie very well.

Exactly, Im not exactly sure what people expected Anna to do. Halle fought for her character. Thats pretty easy to do when you just won an Oscar (I know anna has one but hers was 10 years old at that point) and are a top billing name like she was in the early 2000's.

The biggest issue with the Rouge character is they de-aged her so she wasnt on the same level as the older characters. It made a great role for her in the first film, but it limited what they could do with her character in the final two. Noway we were going to see Rogue Mature in those two movies unless they did a huge time jump. Which they did not.

They could have easily written her as mature and having control of her powers at an early age. They did it with Kitty, why not Rogue? Oh, but I forgot, Simon Kinberg is writing the stories now, he's made it clear, he don't like Rogue, but he sure as hell likes Kitty.
