I have and most of her movies ended up going to DVD's instead of theaters.

Precisely! That's what I ment. IMO we should see her at the likes of "August County" or "Gatsby" you know, movies of high caliber.

Well, especially considering she won an Oscar at such a young age, her post-Oscar career has been more successful than many others'. She may not be the highest paid actress in Hollywood but she has been in other acclaimed films (ALMOST FAMOUS, 25TH HOUR, THE SQUID AND THE WHALE), plays, at least one franchise (X-Men), and obviously a very popular TV show. Sure she's made bad movies too, and some just underrated or with problematic release issues/post-production hell (MARGARET), but Anna would have a solid filmography even if you didn't count THE PIANO. She's clearly not in it just for the fame or even the money; it's her passion for indies - when she's not doing TRUE BLOOD these days, I mean - that makes her so interesting. Your examples of 'high caliber' are vague and include only a potential blockbuster and an in-your-face Oscar beggar (which could turn out to be a great film, or not).

At least she passed on "Battleship"...

Uh, She's the star of True Blood. One of the highest rated pay for view shows in America and broadcast to over 40 countries in the world. I'd say she's doing just fine.

Bah, I can't watch that crap. I just can't get into that show. I don't even remember what she got an Oscar for.
