She's all that

Why would she accept that minor role in She's all that ? I get the minor one in Almost famous because it was a great screenplay/cast/director combo but She's all that ? I get that it's a cute movie but come on.. Kirsten Dunst wouldn't have done something like that at the beginning of her career and Dunst didn't even have an oscar.

I'm guessing she didn't want all the fame and attention at the time. A lot of young famous actors, especially former child stars, get a lot of attention that interferes with their personal life. We've all seen what happens to former child stars when they've been given more than they can handle. Considering Anna won an Oscar at such a young age, she was already a huge star so by accepting small roles or small/regular films she's still having an acting career without too much attention and able not to let it interfere with her personal life. She's smart.

BTW even though I don't like She's All That, she did seem like she was having fun with her role.

Well yeah but she was in X-Men a few months later..

Maybe she liked the role, maybe the role was bigger and got cut back?

Also, it's not like she was THAT big at the time.

She was still an academy award winner.. Then maybe she liked the role as you said.

I hear ya.

I just also think "her version" of the academy award, won as kid, is completely different than say Theron for Monster, Bates for Misery & Portman for Black Swan and so on.

Just my opinion.

An academy award is an academy award. Even if she was young she had a team around her to control her future projects.
