In other words, being allowed to do stuff beyond essentially being a girl next door-type with somewhat of an edge.

I would say she had a pretty good career when in her prime. She still has a pretty good career.

I was not aware she was a singer until I saw the movie 'The First Nudie Musical' and she was in the credits singing for Leslie Ackerman.
