Upcoming Screen Actors Guild Awards - Viggo nominated

In case you're interested, the Screen Actors Guild Awards are this Sunday, January 29. They are being broadcast on TNT and TBS at 8:00PM Eastern ST (5:00PM Pacific ST). Central time would be 7:00PM, and Mountain time should be 6:00PM.

Viggo is nominated for Best Actor for CAPTAIN FANTASTIC, and the entire cast is nominated for Best Ensemble.

It will be interesting to see if he shows up!

So he didn't win again. Doubt he'll make the Oscar.

Well - if you were watching last night, you know Viggo didn't win for Best Actor - nor did the CAPTAIN FANTASTIC cast get Best Ensemble.

However, Viggo was there - and he gave Denzel Washington a big hug as Denzel went up to collect the Best Actor award. HIDDEN FIGURES won for Best Ensemble, and I have to admit that was an excellent movie all around.

Now we'll see if Viggo attends the BAFTA Awards ceremony. That's held in London.

Good luck, Viggo!

I missed it...but glad he gave Denzel a hug...Denzel is a great actor...always gets my attention. Viggo is a good sport.

I don't think any TV channel on my grid was transmitting this. Getting a bit sick of the political rants at these award shows for the over privileged, anyway. I think I'm just going to watch the fashion parade at the red carpet for the Oscars and skip the rest. Would have to say up until 5 am anyway and I'm not that interested in any of them, truth be told.

Lovely to see you again Val. 

The SAG Awards were broadcast on both TNT and TBS on Sunday. In the east, it was on at 8:00PM.

Sorry you missed it.

Viggo looked good - he was seated at a right-up-front table.

And he looked genuinely pleased that Denzel Washington got the award.

I live in Europe, Dorothy so I don't think it was broadcast anywhere. They broadcast the Oscars and the GG's but not much else (and the BAFTA's in the UK which are quite easy to watch online). Time difference is also very big so it's not really feasible to watch live.

They all look "genuinely" pleased when someone else wins - can't really look anything else with all those cameras on them, can they lol?

Sorry - I was thinking you were on the East Coast.

And BTW - don't you agree that "looking genuinely pleased" is part of acting - which is why they were nominated in the first place. :-)

reply

Yes, I often wonder how much some of them must hate others and they all have to pretend to be all sweetness and light, lol. I can't imagine the rivalry and general bitchiness there must be in that medium...
