Moranis, by far! He came across as a perfectly genuine dork who happened to be very funny, Carvey never read as a real in any sense. Carvey played caricataures rather than human beings, he really should have stuck to sketch comedy and not tried to expand into films.

Moranis was a real talent, a real actor who is great with comedy, and the screen is poorer for his absence.

Rick Moranis

Frederick Allan Moranis, by a long margin.

He personifies 80s comedy in the same way Steve Martin and John Candy do. Nothing against Carvey, but he simply didn't have the same cultural impact or list of iconic films to his name.

reply

Moranis, hands down.
