I appreciate reading the two posted interviews. But both interviewers leave the false impression that Mazzello "left acting" between "Simon Birch" (1998) and "The Pacific" (2010). But as his IMDB resume states, he did bit parts in one movie and several TV episodes. And he had major roles in two indie flicks "Wooly Boys" (a truly bad film) and "The Sensation of Sight" (a good film). He also wrote and directed a short -- A Matter of Life and Death -- which was, I think, an assignment as part of his university studies. I have a copy of that 25 minute film -- and it shows a young man serious about acting and film-making.

One doesn't have to do major films -- like Jurassic Park and The Pacific -- to be serious about movie acting.
