Drugstore Cowboy?

Why was this woman cast in Drugstore Cowboy? She was so badly miscast, she's really a terrible actress and is not believable as a heroin addict. They should have cast a former addict you can tell this square tw^t hasn't even smoked a joint. It's worse than Jane Fonda cast as a whore. I'm not an actor and could outact this bitch in my sleep. Why do so many untalented people think they can act? It's so easy to know if you are good or not even before you've ever done a movie. A tip for people that are thinking of acting if you don't know you're good before you've acted you're not!!!!

Wow. Between you--some random internet douche who clearly is a misogynist--and the incredible Gus Van Sant....yeah, I'm going with Gus on this one. She was great, and I feel sorry for you if you can't appreciate a great performance like hers in "Drugstore Cowboy."

I thought Kelly Lynch was good in "Drugstore Cowboy", and overall a good actress in other films. in my opinion, a plus when it came to being easy on the eyes also.

Kelly Lynch IS a former addict. She lobbied hard for the role in Drugstore Cowboy for that reason.

It's also called acting not being. Do you think Tom Hanks sucked in Philadelphia because he doesn't really have AIDS?

reply

All due respect to Ms Lynch, but to me, she was the weak link in 'Drugstore Cowboy'. That's been my impression since 1989, when I first saw this in theatres.

She's not a good actress, and she's distracting in a bad way.

I don't remember her being a heroin addict in Drugstore Cowboy. I don't recall any of the characters in the movie doing heroin at all.

reply

You are correct. They're pharmaceutical junkies.
