Spider-Woman/Julia Carpenter on Iron-Man

Why wasn't this fine lady chosen as Julia Carpenter/Spider-Woman in the new Iron Man film with Robert Downey Jr. She has the red-hair and is an excellent actress as well a beautiful looking woman, too bad Bat Girl was ruined with Alicia Silverstone taking the role whereas there is still hope to save a character like Spider-Woman to be played by an actress such as Robin Lively.
