i can't stand her :/

i don't know what's wrong with me or her but there's just some edge about her that i cannot stand for the life of me. when i watched movies like mystic river and man of the year, i would seriously start considering turning off my tv when she'd come on. i don't know what my deal is. the only film i didn't mind her in was the mothman prophecies :s
so really
i'd love to know if i'm the only one who can't watch her on screen.

i cant watch her on mystic river or the truman show

I think she really is a good actress overall. However, her Boston accent in "Mystic River" was painful to listen to (I'm not from Boston, so I don't know if it's accurate) and her character in "Man of the Year" is poorly written (as was the whole movie). I don't think there was much she could do with it.

She was wonderful, though, in "P.S." and "You Can Count on Me."

The accent was pretty authentic. She brings an intelligence to each role that some viewers might mistake for haughtiness. (Truman Show, Squid and the Whale and Mystic River are my favorites of hers....even though I can't say I "like" any of those characters.)

I feel quite the opposite. I usually watch her films because of her. I think she is a brilliant actress.

I fell in love with her when I saw her in Kinsey. Without makeup, she is lovely and very sincere looking. With makeup, she takes my breath away. I havent seen many of her other films, but I dont think I could handle seeing her play an antagonist.

I felt madly in love with her in the Truman show.

I since then make detour to see films I normally wouldn't want to see just because she's in it.

I am watching an episode of rasier and I keep thinking where have I seen her. Then I came here and realized that I just saw her about three weeks ago in Nanny Diaries as Mrs. X. SO I say ooooooh. But it was still bothering me because I could have sworn I saw her recently. Then I realized she was Merill from Truman show which I just watched last Friday for the 100th time. I can't believe I didn't recognize her in Nanny Diaries. Anyway, I love her dimples. She is lovely.
