Cloris, the Hollywood nit

I just finished reading her autobiography. To say it was "lightweight" is putting it mildly. I wish I hadn't read it; I used to think she may be a genuine person, but now I think she ranks right up there with 98% of the rest of the Hollywood wierdos. She came across as having about as much substance as cotton candy. And before you people yell at me, read her book. 250 pages or so of "ain't I grand". One tiny chapter on the death of her son. Sure, an autobiography is about "me". I understand that. But much of what she said simply didn't ring true. Sorry Cloris, ya lost me. But you're still a doll at 85.

Have admit, but that's probably true of most stars. Patty Duke's book turned me off also. When you're that praised and famously successful, maybe it can't help going to your head.

Thanks, Simple. I think there's more to it though, especially those who aspired to become movie stars. It takes a certain mentality to want to put your face in front of millions of people; to crave admiration and attention; to want to work in an industry where at any given time, 98% of the people are unemployed; where "the little people" toil at low pay to make you incredibly wealthy. All of this, mind you, while you sit with sycophantic reporters who suck up all of the drivel and nonsensical claptrap vomiting forth from your piehole as you say things like "All Republicans should die" or "The rich should pay their fair share". Many, if not most Hollywood celebs hit me as incredibly stupid. And Cloris is just one of many. Hate to hear about Patty Duke. But, just another example.

wow
Do you mean narcissism?
Well for whatever reason they decide to become movie-stars/actors, the subsequent fame still has the same effect,to a degree. Whether it's to be famous, the artistry,or a carry-over from being a child star.
