Why did she accept such a small part in 'Butch Cassidy'......?

I more or less missed Miss Leachman in this role. OK, she wasn't a major league movie star at the time but she wasn't a novice either. Her face was obscured for most of her role and I had to rewind a few times before I realised who it was. I wonder why she agreed to accept such a blink-and-you'll-miss it role?

maybe there were scenes if her edited out, or she she just wanted to be in a feature film of that status. She certainly paid her dues and worked her way up.

Probably just to get next to Newman. It was a huge movie. It solidified Redmen's stardom.
