A great actor! A personal favourite.

I've been a big Matt LeBlanc fan ever since the release of his 1992 series, Vinnie and Bobby. Before that, I really didn't understand any of his work. Too kitch, too trivial. It was on Vinnie and Bobby where LeBlanc's presence became more apparent. I think episode 5 was the series' undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding four episodes. Watch the brilliant ensemble acting of Torti, LeBlanc and Adam's. You can practically see every nuance of every movement. In terms of acting craftsmanship, the sheer direction, this show hits a new peak of professionalism. Take episode two. In this one, Vinnie addresses the problems of abusive political authority. It's the most moving sitcom of the 1990s, about monogamy and commitment. The series is extremely uplifting. Their meaning is as positive and affirmative as anything I've found on TV. LeBlanc's solo acting seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially shows like Joey. But I also think LeBlanc works best within the confines of a group, than as a solo actor, and I stress the word actor.

His early work was a little too method for my tastes, but when Ghost Brigade came out in '93, I think he really came into his own. Commercially and artistically.
