is it just me or does she seem selfish

I don't know if selfish is the right word but first of all she was against there being a murder, she wrote remake now shes against a live action remake of beauty and the beast its like she thinks people aren't allowed to remake anything shes starred in as if it cant be bettered

Imagine you made something that was iconic, people saw it and loved it, years down the road someone decides to take what you did and reinvent it to their image not caring how you felt or regards to your work. Would you be for it or against it?

reply

Except that her version is a remake, too. A version was released in 1946.

zep I understand where your coming from to an extent but as others have pointed out theres many versions of beauty and the beast don't forget that theres been live versions of tarzan and the jungle book in the last year both which I enjoyed it happens all the time I think arrogant would have been a better word than selfish as she thinks nobody can better what shes done also battlestar gallictica just came to mind the original had a cult following and I was a huge fan of it then there was a remake and although personally I prefer the original id accept the remake was more popular

I like Angela Lansbury, but I think that she seems to be overlooking the fact that her version of Beauty and the Beast isn't the original version.

I think shes a talented actress ms and has done some really good things in her career

But it's not just any version, it's the Disney version. Disney doesn't need so many remakes of their movies.

reply

Wrong. Disney did borrow some from La Belle et la Bête, but theirs was just another adaptation of the French fairy tale, not a remake of Cocteau's film.

Aladdin also borrowed from the 1940 British film The Thief of Bagdad, but no one would call Disney's movie a remake of that.

I'd be mad too. I am mad and I'm not a movie star. There's no point in making a remake of something that is already good except to make money because you don't have an original idea. It's stupid. What's sad is that it DOES make money. Heaven forbid people just watch the original version. They have to have new stuff all the time.
