Has anyone seen 'Far North'

It's an interesting looking film. It is directed by her longtime former beau Sam Shepard. Charles Durning , Tess Harper and Patricia Arquette also star and it was filmed in her native Minnesota.

I've never seen it, but it sounds intriguing and certainly has a great cast.

its a cute movie. The last scene (birthday scene) you can see some of Jessica's actual family members. Her daughter Shura is the little girl with the braids standing next to her. Her other daughter Hannah is the infant sitting to the left of Jessica (being held by someone) To Jessica's right is her sister Jane holing a little boy with a hat on.

There is also a scene toward the beginning when the mother is making a big breakfast for a bunch of men at her table. Jessica's real dad is the one in overalls and glasses.

I love this movie. It's on DVD.

It is a quaint little movie, minus Patricia Arquette's character. She does nothing but scream and complain for the entire movie. She's really annoying. Otherwise, good fun.

I agree Arquette was HORRIBLE! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that lol

It's a really good little movie and a must see for Lange fans. I thought the chemistry between Jessica and Ann Wedgeworth was the best part of Sweet Dreams and it's enjoyable again in Far North.

I remember reading that Shepard based the characters on Lange's family, but when they screened the film for the family, they couldn't or didn't want to see themselves. Something that Lange found amusing. It's great how her father from Tootsie, her mother from Sweet Dreams,an in-law from The Music Box and her cousin from Crimes of the Heart ,are all a part of Far North.
