Horrible New Yawk Accent

I'm sorry but I lived in New York City for almost 20 years of my life and I must say her current role as Vivian Johnson in "Without a Trace" has the WORST fake New York accent I have ever heard on television and movies.

It's almost like she's intentionally making her character have a fake New York accent or something.

reply

She's British. That might explain it.

reply

Without a Trace has an incredible collection of bad American accents. It's like they went out of their way to make implausible casting decisions

reply

now you know how us Brits feel when Americans put on our accents...badly.

reply

i watched some interviews today, and when she started talking with this british accent i couldn't believe it... lol
i thought her accent was real... but of course i wouldn't know, since the only real new york accent i've ever heard was from fran drescher ;D

it's convincing when you don't know what this accent really is supposed to sound, i guess.

I thought she had a great accent. When I found out that she was British I was shocked.

I first thought, man she has a thick accent when I saw her on WAT. She reminded me of Lauren Velez from New York Undercover so I didn't really question it much. But when I found out she was British I was like "Oh, that explains it."

I was born and raised in New York City and I think her accent is convincing. It's more of a Brooklyn accent though.
