Lennon sounds like a pretentious prick.

reply

He was exactly that and worse.

reply

He would be the first to admit too.

He liked the Stones, he just thought they copied the Beatles at times in their early days and Jagger looked ridiculous acting like he did on stage.

Personally, I disagree.

i the songs but was never a fan of jagger's stage presentation.

reply

Lol I totally agree. Well said, Johnny.

reply

Lennon was homophobic? That's disappointing.

More like outwardly cynical & mocking as a defense mechanism, due to his damaged childhood. And he came from a background where that was the norm for all boys growing up. Even as a Beatle, he was looking for ways to grow; after the Beatles, he eventually got a good portion of the way there, mellowing out & honestly expressing regret for many of the things he had said & done as a younger man.

Well, if the Stones called it a day in 1970, we don't get Exile on Main St. or Sticky Fingers. If they hang it up after that, we still miss out on some underrated albums; I really like A Bigger Bang, for instance (Back of My Hand? Awesome). We don't get Doom & Gloom. We don't get Blue and Lonesome, and that's a great blues album.

If Lennon clocked out after the Beatles, on the other hand, we miss out on stuff like Imagine and Working Class Hero, but we also have almost 100% less Yoko Oh-No.
