The French Julianne Moore

I always thought Isabelle Huppert was France's Julianne Moore. Not only does she resemble Julianne physically (same height, red hair, freckles), but also her roles seem as risky, challenging and sexy as Julianne's. Both their filmographies have touched upon various themes such as adultery, incest, sexual frustration, and obsession. What do you think?

reply

No. She's more subversive than Moore. Her closest parallel is Judy Davis, the Australian.

I would agree she's not a French Julianne Moore. She's also much more divisive than Moore. I would say Moore and Binoche are closer.

Huppert is a bit like Judy Davis, but she has made a bigger contribution I would think than the wonderful Davis.

I like the comparison, and they're both 2 of my favourite actresses for similar reasons. I also think Huppert may pull a similar stunt that Moore did with Still Alice - The movie only receiving a best actress nom and win.
