She wasn’t that hot, she wasn’t that funny, and she’s not a particularly great actresses, so it’s really not a surprise.

She's a good-looking woman who can be as funny as hell if given a good script, but the fact is that there aren't many good scrips. IMHO the five failed sitcoms are probably just sheer bad luck, not many sitcoms are good and fewer are hits.

But the fact that she's never had a fabulous starring role in a movie isn't a coincidence, it's because Hollywood just doesn't write or fund good scripts about middle-aged women with a sense of humor! In movies she'll always be limited to heroine's-best-pal-or-mother roles, and she'd have to fight the likes of Sandra Oh and Jennifer Coolidge for those.

I remember catching "Life with Bonnie" a few times when it came out. I'm thinking it was Friday nights? I could be wrong, but I remember thinking that she was really talented and funny. And then suddenly the show was gone.

Why isn't she a bigger star? People are stupid, that would be my guess.
