One of the "50 greatest male actors from Hollywood's Golden Age

Rock Hudson was known for his roles in romantic comedies opposite Doris Day -- most famously 1959 ¨Pillow Talk¨ with Doris Day. Before that he had dramatic performances in Magnificent Obsession (1954) and Giant (1956) for which he earned his single Academy Award nomination.

Considered one of the "50 greatest male actors from Hollywood's Golden Age:" https://www.telegraph.co.uk/films/0/best-actors-hollywoods-golden-age/rock-hudson/

He appeared in five films that have been selected for the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant: Winchester '73 (1950), All That Heaven Allows (1955), Giant (1956), Pillow Talk (1959) and Seconds (1966).
