Is there any chance that Christian Bale is this guys illegitimate son? They look a lot like each other, and they both have exactly the same mouth.
If Bale is ever in a film where his character's dad is also a character, then they should consider Mr. Hinds for the part.

Second; I can pretty much say that they are not father and son.... would be a major surprise for both of them I would think. Besides Christian Bale has a biological father already. lol

While I understand what you are talking about by saying they resemble each other, I don't think they look all that much alike. They share certain features, sure, but only the sort of features shared by thousands upon thousands of people of Irish/British ancestry.
I agree. I even worked with a Vietnamese master who looked like Ciarán Hinds very much but I'm sure they were not family-related.
I think that makes Ciarán a great actor is (among others things) his hability to look like anybody on screen. What about actors who look like themselves so much that they don't disappear behind their characters?
