Above Suspicion

When I heard or read I should say that Ciaran Hinds was going to be in a movie called "Above Suspicion" and that it is based on a book; well lets just say I did something I do not normally do; I got the book and read it so I could know what I was going to see in the movie (If we ever get it here in the good ol' U.S.A.) and compare it to the book. Also I don't normally read mystry books; but I really liked this book and can totally see Ciaran Hinds as Langton. I have read the second book in the Anna Travis series, "The Red Dalhia"; very good too and planning on getting 3rd book in this series, "Clean Cut". I hope that all three of these books are made into movies, and that Ciaran Hinds will be in all 3 and that they stay as close to the books as they can.

AFAIK, there will be a fourth book in september.

The movie shooting this month in London seems to be the first of a series (like "Prime Suspect"). I look forward to seeing it, if ever I can lay a hand on a tape (It will take years to be aired in France).

I agree with you that Ciarán Hinds will be a great Langton.

There is a two part text about ABOVE SUSPICION here: http://www.ciaranhinds.eu/ and the other part can be found in section INTERVIEWS/ ARTICLES in case you are interested! It will be a great role for him, especially in the third part of the book. I am looking forward to it!

Ciaran will make a very good DI Langton, he has just the right mesmeric qualities. I hope the networks pick up on the pilot and make the other books.

There are just 3 books in the Anna Travis series right? I hope there are more .

I just got through reading the 3rd book in the Anna Travis series, "Clean Cut"; and is it a sign that I am crazy or what, but I was and still kind of am mad at Langton?!?! I think Anna should have junk punched him in his business or at the ver least kicked him in the other knee. I liked the book like the other 2 but was just mad after I got done with this one. Can not wait for the 4th book too come out. Does any one know the title?

reply

Yes: it's "Deadly Intent". Announced on september 1st. Here is the synopsis:

"Alexander Fitzpatrick is one of the most wanted men in the Western world. A Howard Marks character, but far more dangerous, his wealth, accrued through drug-trafficking, runs into millions. For the past ten years there has been no sighting of him. Has he gone to ground using an alias, or is he dead? When an ex-police officer from the murder squad is found shot in a dank squat, Anna Travis is pulled onto the case. As the body count rises and the investigation becomes ever more complex, suspicion falls on Fitzpatrick. Is he still alive and in the UK? Could he be the killer, with terrifying access to the most lethal drug in existence? "

What of Langton?

Thank you for the synopisis. I hope Langton is in this one and I hope Anna Travis junk punches him in his business or a good swift kick in his bum leg with a pair of pointey shoes....lol... I know; I know ; it is probably a sign of insanity to be mad at a fictional character but let me say when i finished "Clean Cut" I was so mad at this character I could just spit....lol..but maybe it is a sign of a good writer that evokes such passion.....I would like to think so and that it is not insanity...lol

The next book comes out the day I leave out of town :( I will just have to wait I guess untill I come back.

When you ask; what of Langton are you asking why I was mad at a fictional character ; or what of Langton because he is not in the new book?
