hated Julie Andrews?

I heard he hated Julie Andrews, with whom he starred in 1966's 'Hawaii', and I was just wondering if this is true and why! Thanks. :)

Like Christopher Plummmer (who said working with Julie Andrews would feel like being beaten with a huge Hallmark card all the time) Harris found her "too sweet". But like Plummer Harris probably later got along with her, so I wouldn't talk about "hate", but about not being his type.

Richard Burton is said to have liked her quite a bit when they worked together on 'Camelot'.

Plummer never made superstar status but remains an in demand actor in prestige films.

True. When making 'Hawaii' Julie would turn up on time, knowing the lines - a real professional. Harris would go on violent drunken binges and think he could wing it. They were totally opposite characters. Julie's stepfather was also a violent alcoholic according to her autobiography so you can see why there would be an antipathy. Harris in a biographical article even said he had never hated a human more than Julie! He claimed she was 'mean and condescending' - which suggests a massive inferiority complex on his part masked by his bluster. He also loathed Michael Caine, Marlon Brando and Charlton Heston to name a few other actors.
