Reasons to watch Code Black

Marcia Gay Harden plays the character so right. She hits all the notes. This is her role. I hope she is enjoying herself making a a character of very little. Because I enjoy watching her make what must be a max of 4 spoken words (which aren't exposition) on a page into a character. In just 3 episodes, I believe she loves her job more than life itself. That's Marcia Gay Harden, not the writers of Code Black. She gets all the credit here. Awesome!

Second reason to watch. The lovely people of color are real characters not filler! This is exciting. Good actors doing their thing on this show. And I enjoy seeing real people on TV.

Third, Code Black writer s will find a way to create story from nothing. They need time to expand and undo the damage from the mediocre pilot episode.

I miss ER. It was a fantastic show. Code Black is not ER, but it will find its gravy. I have hope.
