Should've been a star

It's so strange to me that she never became one, I see movies like The Temp and there was definite star potential.

She is a star. Thousands of actors out there and I know this womans first, middle and last name as a household name.

Why don't we see more of her? Bad agent perhaps ?

She was one of my favorites back in the day. Like with so many other upcoming actresses there was never a role that cemented her as a star so after a while she quickly faded. She had some leading roles but none in a significant movie or a role that stablished her as a star. All her films from her youth were either quickly forgotten or the ones that made some impact only showed her in supporting or 'the girl' roles. In 2002 she was in Men in Black 2, but then again she was obscured by the two main stars of the film. After that she had anorexia and it seems she has some sort of illness plus bad plastic surgery, she looks very sick in recent photos. I hope she gets better.
Happiness was a great film, but then again that was more like an ensemble movie but she does have some good scenes in it. It's a little gem of independent cinema of the 90s.
She'll probably be more remembered for Twin Peaks than anything else. It's sad she never became a bigger name but it happens to hundreds of actresses all the time. It's a tough industry for women to stay relevant, particularly after they turn 40.

She was also very effective on several seasons of THE PRACTICE, and I think she'll be remembered for that, too. She played a very cold, almost malicious, attorney...which she did perfectly.

I think the fact that she has such a cold and ruthless, almost spiritually empty, persona is part of what kept her from really sticking with the public.
