Suggestions?

I love Fox and his Friends and Querelle. Other than those, I don't think I've seen his other films. Where should I start? There's so many.

Definitely watch Fear Eats the Soul - that’s a brilliant film. I also really liked The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, The Marriage of Maria Braun and In a Year of 13 Moons.

I’ve been meaning to watch Querelle - one of the many I haven’t seen yet,

Querelle is very weird, but it speaks to me in a special way. Beautifully surreal. Thanks for the recs, now I know where to start.

You’re welcome - enjoy!

I've seen a lot of his films and think he's great! I would suggest Ali: Fear Eats the Soul (1974). My favorite Fassbinder film!
The others are all good, I'll have to rewatch them to determine the other top ones. Here's a good quick description: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRWNqX_R2Ck

Seems to be consensus. Fear Eats the Soul is where I'll start. Thanks!

I’ve only seen about ten of his films. I like them all a lot, the exceptions being Veronika Voss - which looked beautiful and had its moments but didn’t engage me overall - and Whity, which I loathed. He was clearly a unique and fascinating filmmaker and I am keen to see as much of his work as possible.

Ali: Fear Eats the Soul, The Merchant of Four Seasons, and The Marriage of Maria Braun are all excellent. I would recommend those three next.

Cool thanks. I'm on it.
