I thought his career would take off...

He had some good performances before TDK, in movies like Thank You for Smoking and Erin Brockovich, then he was great in TDK and got a lot of exposure. On top of that, he had leading man looks. I thought he'd be the kind of actor that was in both Oscar-type movies and blockbusters, like Matt Damon or Jeremy Renner. His career is awful, though. After TDK he's been in critical and commercial bust after critical and commercial bust. The one exception was Rabbit Hole, and that was mainly Kidman's movie, not his.

I would really love to see him in a period drama, maybe something set in the '40s or '50s.

he has had a good career

Maybe his career would take off if he took off some clothes. As Lily Allen put it, "I'll take my clothes off, and it will be shameless. 'Cuz everyone knows, that's how you get famous."

Geeez. It's so simple.

Any actor that works steadily has a good career. Only a handful will somehow rocket to the top of the heap. Just saying.

I really don't think Aaron has had the best career. Not a lot of people know who he is. I saw him in 'No Reservations' and I loved the part he played alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones and Abigail Breslin. Only a few will make it to the top.

He's a good actor but he's competing for the same roles as Mccaunehey, Josh Lucas, Bradey Cooper and Dicaprio.

No shame in taking a role for the paycheck, he is a working actor.

No shame in taking a role for the paycheck, he is a working actor. None at all. He's made a lot of money, maybe he just doesn't spend it like Cage did and is happy with his life and picking the roles he enjoys. Not everyctor feels the need to become the King of Hollywood.
