But the last few movies I've seen him in he just sort of grunts and shuffles around.

lol well he is 83. Probably just trying to shake out his next bowel movement.

Just saw him in "Hateful Eight", in which he did much more than grunt.

He's an old man. There isn't much he can do on screen anymore ...so it's playing the old gruntie, shuffling grouchy man.....
