I don't know why people act like she's this great actress, she plays herself in every movie. Always looks the same and sounds the same. I guess she has a certain gravitas to her but that's about it. Talent wise it's not there.

Nice to see the old broads - or dames I should say - get their due. Good for Mildred and Judy and Helen and that other woman from that Harry Potter movie where she was the nasty head mistress that had to be vanquished. Another handsome lass who had the misfortune to actually grow up and continue to work in acting.

shareI'd struggle to call her an actress at all. More of just a movie star. But she has a great screen presence.
shareShe does play the same character in most of her light material, but since I like the character I'm okay with that.
She's capable of more, of course, but since she's been in "retirement's coming, gotta earn some money" for the last 20 years, she hasn't stretched herself much. Although I really did like her as M in the James Bond films, she was the best M of them all for what that's worth... the one M that James Bond couldn't put anything over on. She was terrific in the role, the one M who was onto Bond. That won't happen again!
