Probably the nicest, most down to Earth celeb I've met.

And he is.

I had a dream last night that we hung out and he turned out to be a very decent person. Kind of funny, considering how scary his characters usually are.

It's funny how he's universally praised for being such a nice guy -- which you can see clearly in his interviews and how he treats people -- yet he's so adept at playing horrible characters, and he's intimidating as hell.

He's also great at playing good guys, too. I loved his character in Alien3, and probably the worst part about that movie is how he dies, waaaayyy too early, after so much time on character development and establishing his relationship with Ripley.

Everyone on Game of Thrones mentioned how nice he is and how helpful he is, especially to the younger actors. He seems to really love acting and not so much being a celebrity.

In his episode of Who Do You Think You Are? where we all find out some very interesting things about his family tree, he comes across as a good guy and it's funny that he says himself how he comes from a background at odds to most of the characters he plays (upper class toff).
He's just a great actor - and his height/bearing obviously helps!
He gets a lot of surprises, there's emotion and some historical insights.

Interestingly, he is the ONE COSTAR Meryl Streep clashed with. (They did the film PLENTY together in the 80's.)

It could have been just as much her fault as his, of course.

She was most likely intimidated by and envious of the power of his acting
