1947 Black Dahlia murder still unsolved

I hear Christina thinks this is suspicious.

Christina needs to research this one, along with her Meyer Lansky and Alfred Steele revelations. Joan might have been jealous of Elizabeth Short (young, pretty, photogenic), and perhaps Joan gave her a ride in her convertible that night.....

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

No doubt Marilyn Monroe's reluctance to accept a long term relationship with Joan was informed by what happened to Elizabeth Short. So many starlets had been burned or worse by Joan that by the mid 1950s Joan was reduced to trying to seduce Mercedes McCambridge on the set of Johnny Guitar.

I love watching the scenes between Joan and Mercedes in Johnny Guitar. The sapphic vibes are fascinating. Did they actually have an affair?

That much hate must hide some love, or at least an obsessive infatuation. And if Joan wasn't exactly 100% hetero, it's hard to imagine Mercedes McCambridge as straight. Look at her roles in Giant and A Touch of Evil. She's no more straight than Paul Lynde or Liberace.

I was surprised when I read that McCambridge had a son. She gives off a very manly vibe. I just saw her in "All the King's Men" and found her repugnant, yet fascinating. I do not think Crawford was a lesbian.
