Who will be a better Edgar Allen Poe

Ben Chaplin or John Cusack? For me its hard to choose.

Easily Ben Chaplin. He's astonishingly great! I hadn't actually noticed his small roles in films I'd seen. Then, last year I saw Me & Orson Welles, in which Chaplin portrayed the agonised genius of an actor, George Coulouris.

When I read Chaplin was also in Dorian Gray, I ordered the DVD right away. In both films his performances ring true and stand out! His portrayal of artist Basil Hallward was simply the best performance in Dorian Gray.

I can easily imaging Ben Chaplin giving life and interest to any part he chooses.
He's not particularly 'handsome' to my eyes, but his voice and his movements make one pay close attention to him. He particularly works through his voice. That is rare these days.

As much as I like John Cusack, the guy is somewhat limited as a melodramatic actor and I'm not a fan of his recent spate of subpar film choices.

I'm not familiar with any developments regarding Edgar Allen Poe (one of my favorite Romantic writers) but I think Ben would be a good choice. I just hope they don't cast someone like Christian Bale.

John Cusack will do a fantastic job (fingers crossed) l believe, they look a good bit alike to a degree. I cold see Ben doing it too or Charlie Cox-he would be perfect!
