I see him more as a Jack Ryan character than bond. He has the look for bond, but the whole bond girl thing isnt in line with his moral compass from what I've read about him

I see him more as John Clark in Jack Ryan novels

Was told that he was under consideration for the role of Nolan's Batman, but was too old to be a 30 year old Bruce Wayne. He played very Bruce Wayne like character in POI with a hint of (Craig's) Bond. I agree he would have been much more believable and appropriate in the role of the current Batman. But that wouldn't happen given the fact that he was tied to POI.
