Height?

Okay, I know a lot of actors fudge their heights for their resume's, usually overstating it a bit, but after watching the series finale of "Shark", which featured Bill Campbell, either he is understating his actual height, or Henry Simmons is overstating his.

In the final scene where Henry Simmons cuffs Bill Campbell to haul him off to jail, Campbell is noticeably taller than Simmons. Yet, IMDb lists Simmons' height as 6'4" and Campbell's as 6' 3 1/2". So, either their actual heights are wrong, or else Bill Campbell wore platform shoes in his scene with Simmons.

What do you think?

I doubt he fudges his height. In fact it's probably the reason he never really made it to be a big name in hollywood, because of being too tall.Hollywood definitely favours shorter actors.

I bet Simmons is fudging on his height... you know how competitive some men can be. I'm sure many men feel inferior to Billy since he's sooooo good looking:)

Billy is around 6'5" or something, the listing is too short, and its obvious in the Rocketeer where the guy towers over everybody.Contrary to short actors who build up their listed height, very tall actors usually scale down their height.
I ve seen it happen with quite a few very tall actors who dont like to be perceived as giants.

Yes jimakros. I agree. Tim Robbins is like that. For years he listed his height as 6'4" on his resume as he know that it is difficult to get cast in roles if you are taller than 6-4. When it became obvious he was taller he grudgingly admitted to being 6-4 1/2. He is actually about 6'5 1/2 and maybe even 6'6". I have seen him in person and he is very tall. He towered over everyone in The Shawshank Redemption including Morgan Freeman.

Billy claims to be 6'3 1/2 but he is at least a strong 6-4 imo. Powerful and athletic. He was really scary as Wayne Callison on Shark.

John Corbett is 6'5" and it hasn't hurt his career. What gets me are the ones who are OBVIOUSLY NOT 6'. Watch WHITE COLLAR. You're gonna tell me that Matt is almost six feet? In almost every production I've seen him in, all the Actors tower over him. My boyfriends in college were 6'5" and I LOVED IT! And I'm only 5'4". My favorite 6'6" Actor was CLINT WALKER. Practically everything we've seen him in, there were always scenes with his shirt off.

I heard someone the other day talking about the movie ENOUGH and how she loved it. My favorite scene, of course, is near the end when Billy gets out of bed. But, seriously, everyone was saying how "scary" Billy could be with just a flicker in his eyes. He can easily change from GOOD to EVIL in a nanosecond.

Yes, Tim Robbins is tall. I didn't really notice it when I saw him one Sunday near USC. We were screening four movies that day and during our lunch break, my friend and I were walking past Starbucks and I said to my friend (as I pointed), "Look at that!". From the corner of my eye, I saw some man turn around and look at me. I then said, "I didn't know Starbucks had sandwiches." When I looked to my left, I saw a very disappointed Tim Robbins, who then turned and walked away.

I actually have a bit of an interesting story regarding Billy and his height. I was an extra on the Killing 3 times and saw Billy on all occasions. First time was before the series aired and back then I knew nothing about the series. Anyways the extras were staying inside this building and they were doing cast interviews just behind the curtains across the room. I was sitting down reading then I looked to the side and was surprised who was sitting next to me. The person looked like Billy Campbell and I asked if it was him, which turned out it was. We talked a bit and I told him I was a fan of Once and Again. He asked what I was reading and I showed him it was Allstar Superman which I borrowed from the library. He later had to go and do his interview and when he was done, he actually came back to me to ask my name and shake my hand before leaving. Nice man. That was the first time I ever talked to a leading actor. When he was leaving, he didn't look as tall as I thought he was, but I was sitting, so I couldn't get a good gauge on his height.

Second time was a scene where Billy's character was hosting some basketball game underneath a overpass, near the water. I don't watch the Killing, so I have no idea which episode this was. Anyways this time we were standing up and he was shorter than I expected since I know he gets listed as 6'4, but thought possibly 6'3 since he sometimes looked shorter than that on Once and Again. Anyways he looked only about 6'2. I kept on looking at him and gazing at his height. Thinking could he be taller than I think, but then I noticed a lot of the other basketball players were about his height if not taller. There was even this big dude who towered over Billy and I knew the big guy was over 6'6 and probably like 6'7. I thought maybe Billy shrunk a bit due to old age or possibly just wasn't as tall as I thought. It was a short day, but I did asked two of the extras their heights, including the big dude. The guy I was standing next to while waiting for the shuttle I thought was up to 6'2, but he said 6'3. And the big dude said he was 6'8. Upon realizing this, I figure maybe Billy was a bit taller than I thought, but appeared a tad bit shorter since when you're next to people as tall as you or taller, you're going to come off as not as tall as you really are.

Final time was during some campaign election and he was coming down from the stage. His scene has him constantly passing by me. This time with the big dudes no longer surrounding him, he came off a tad bit taller, but even then I only pegged him around 6'2-6'3.

That's my experience with him. Keep in mind I have over a decade of working on sets, so I'm used to gauging people (including actors) heights, have seen plenty of people in the 6'1-6'5 range and I have a tendency to be pretty accurate. For example after gazing at Steven Seagal's double for a while, I guessed him to be at around 6'4/6'5. I asked the double and he answered 6'5. What's strange is that prior to this, I know both Billy and Noah Wyle were in the movie Enough (though I don't remember that movie enough to even remember their scenes together) and saw this picture of them: http://www.superiorpics.com/noah_wyle/movie-picture/bill_campbell_noah _wyle_enough_001.html

What's strange is that I've been on the set of Falling Skies the past years and Noah looks like a legit 6 footer. I guess the photo above looks about 3 inches between them, then again I do have Billy as pegged as 6'2-6'3, so I still can't help but wonder if he shrunk a bit.

RIP AJ Cook's career. Her career dies everytime she's on the sh#t known as Criminal Minds.

I met Billy once back in 2002. I thought 6'4" was accurate then.
