Due in great part (but not solely) on his work in Sicario and Sicario 2

The man is top notch. He has risen way above his dad's stature, who I also liked very much for decades.

He is also great as Thanos too. I LOVE Sicario 1 and 2 and cannot wait for the 3rd installment.

I don't know much of his recent work, but I have enjoyed him in things like True Grit and W and No Country. He really falls into a character and becomes him. Funny how his father was mostly a kitschy handsome guy, (sorry if that's not how you view James). Just like how Jeff Bridges out-paced Lloyd.

Glad you brought up Kirk and Micheal. To me, Kirk was a Movie Star, strong on charisma and chiseled. Mike had to work hard and used his brain and resources to become an A-lister. I wouldn't rate one behind the other either way.

little movies like Deadpool 2, avengers endgame, avengers infinity war, but I can kinda see what you mean I haven't seen only the brave or legacy of a whitetail deerhunter.

I don't make a point to go to new movies, much less super hero movies. These ensemble things don't necessarily showcase Josh to his best advantage, I wouldn't think. But yeah, he's great and there is so much of his I haven't seen.
