Josh Brolin as Batman?

With Christian Bale out as Batman for the Batman/Superman movie, I was surprised to hear that Josh Brolin's name has been mentioned to be the next Batman. At first I kind of rolled my eyes at his name being thrown around for the role, thinking it was just either a joke or a long shot "throwing names out at random" bit at best...

But why not Josh Brolin? We know he can play dark and brooding, and he totally encompasses every role that he plays. The producers of the movie are talking an older Batman...so why not give the guy a chance?

Even my fiancee, who we in our family refer to as the "Leonard Hoffstedder" of Central Illinois (He knows his stuff when it comes to EVERY super hero....from Batman to Quicksilver to Dark Canary...) was REALLY into Brolin playing the superhero. This surprised me because he is normally not a huge fan of Josh Brolin. My fiancee thought that Brolin would be a great fit for the dark side of the role.

So, what do you think? Josh Brolin as Batman? Would you watch?

Cast my favorite actor as my favorite superhero? I'm sure the thought is too good to be true.

While I think Bale is currently the best to portray Batman, I think Brolin would exceed what Bale brought to the table.

Combining the right amount of smarm and cockiness to pull off Bruce Wayne with the perfect amount of menace and that "you just don't want to mess with me" look to pour into Batman, Brolin is the perfect choice.

My fiancee brought this up, too. Remember Brolin in "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps?" He played Bretton James, a guy with more than a passing resemblance to Bruce Wayne. Combine that with a little of the brooding qualities of Jonah Hex and Agent K...you've got Batman.

To which my fiancee sighed...

I really hope that Brolin, who seems to be a big WB player anyway, tests for this role at least. I think this could be huge for him.

I like him, but I would rather they start out with a younger Batman.

Unfortunately, the producers of the next movie are going older. However, why not Josh Brolin then? He's got the sex appeal, the body, the voice, and the acting ability to pull it off.
